SCB had a fantstic weekend away at the Sunderland Monkwearmouth Corps in October. It was good to renew friendships with members of the home Band who visited Sheffield earlier in the year.
The weekend got off to a great start with a welcome meal in a local restaurant – no-one went hungry 🙂 and then continued with a festival on Saturday evening. This was well attended, not only by the Sunderland Corps but also by a number of SCB’s “old” friends. Saturday’s festival included solo items from Ian Wileman (trombone), Simon Rowney (cornet) and Damian Wileman (vocal). Sunday’s holiness meeting was led by Ian Wileman, who challenged the congregation with his thought-provoking words and we were pleased to see a seeker at the end of the service. Sunday afternoon began with a lively praise section and included solo items by: Ryan Wileman (baritone) and Andrew Shires (xylophone). Dudley Hughes brought the weekend to a conclusion with a time of reflection before the Band presented “it’s been a wonderful day”, featuring Damian Wileman on vocal, which accurately summed up the time we had shared with our friends at Sunderland Monkwearmouth.
Here is a video from the Sunday afternoon. More can be viewed on our Videos page

A big thanks to everyone at Sunderland for their warm welcome & hospitality. 🙂
